Working your core

I have recently discovered why you must work your core, I just thought it was to get great abs, but it is so much more. Part of my PT course has explained that the core is important to your whole body. It is the stabiliser of your body, it is important to have a neutral spine, which means that it is inline with your whole body.
Part of the core is making sure you have good posture. Now I have terrible posture and always have. I slouch forward and now I am desperately trying to correct this by sitting up straight, with two feet on the floor when I am at the desk. When I’m standing, I make sure that I am standing tall with my spine inline.
When working your core, you should not be rushing through exercises, you should be doing them in a controlled environment whereby actions are fluid. When laying on your back, your spine should lay flat and not move when doing leg crunches.
If you want a great core, which yes, includes abs, then make sure you do exercises which target this area. Again running is good for your core, but so are crunches and exercises which requires to ellivate your feet and hold them just off the floor.
So try something different in your next exercise regime and try these exercises.
