Alcohol and Fitness

So we all like catching up with friends and enjoying a few drinks, but did you know that Alcohol contributes a lot to weight gain. Like all things in life, the sweet tasting stuff is generally bad for you as its full of sugar. Alcohol is the same. Did you know that Champagne/Sparkling wine is full of sugar? Apple Cider which is my absolute favourite is laden with sugar. That’s why it tastes so good.
If you are true about your fitness regime and wanting to loss weight, you have to ditch the alcohol. That is to say, not completely. If you drink every night of the week, cut it down to your 2 days off and don’t go overboard. The experts say that we should not consume more than 2 standard drinks a day. With not exceeding 4 standard drinks in one day. However, if your on a fitness regime, water is better for you and you wake up feeling better the next morning.
I try and not drink during the week, occasionally I might have 1 drink one night and then on the weekend, I will generally have one night where I will have up to 4 drinks.
But I try and stay discipline. I have goals and I want results. If you want results, you have to cut all the bad stuff out of your diet and then re-introduce it in moderation.
Time and time again, I hear people saying I want to loose weight, but they will quite happily sit there and have too much to drink and what happens when you drink, you also generally have nibbles such as chips and biscuits and dips and cheese.
So if you are committed to your fitness regime, limit your drinking. Be strong willed and disciplined. If you want results you have to work for them, they will not come easily.
