Are you living your best life?

Are you living your best life now? There is a saying that you shouldn’t regret anything in life. But really how true is that? We all live with regrets in life but they should stay in the past. Because thats where they belong.

We need to look at the present and towards the future and learn from past life experiences to ensure that mistakes are not constantly recurring. Life throws many curve balls and challenges and we sometimes gets so blog down in the past, we cannot see the there is a great present or beautiful future ahead.

Life is all about experiences. Getting out and viewing beautiful things, spending time with family and loved ones and creating memories. For when we are old, we will not look back and say to ourselves “geez i wished i worked another weekend”, we will look back fondly of the many memories where we have doing things that we love to do with people we love.

As my mother says, “you have to be kind to yourself” and boy is she right. Yes, mothers are generally right. You have to take time out to enjoy life, relax, unwind and look after yourself. I cannot stress how great I feel after an exercise session. 45 mins out of my day, which is nothing really in the total scheme of things. Yes some days I have to push myself, but I am investing in my future as well, not just the present me but future me.

When you age, the more active you are becomes increasingly important to ensure that your muscles stay strong. We know that the older you get the more your bone density decreases, so doing low resistance strength training is increasingly important as you get into the senior years.

We also find that senior people that socialise regularly and have a zest for life and who love spending time with younger people, tend to keep their minds more active as well. So creating memories and having an active social life throughout your life is extremely important as well for your mind.

It’s ok if you’re not living your best life at the moment, there will be better times in the future. Make sure you are looking after yourself and take time out to spend time with love ones.

So are you living your best life now?
