New Years Resolutions

As we roll around to New Years, out will come the new year new me resolutions. How many of us actually last more than 5 days on the resolution?
So why do we make these New Year resolutions year after year? Well its a tradition and it makes us feel good at the time and when someone asks what’s your resolution, you have something to say.
Truth is, in order to make a resolution, you are actually making a commitment to yourself and when your making a commitment you must be mentally prepared and want to do it so bad that no obstacle will stand in your way.
If you are one of these people that must make a New Years resolution, then ensure you actually want it and not just making another empty promise to yourself.
Changing habits is hard work. It takes time and commitment and will take weeks to get into a new routine. This is why I think the majority of New Years resolutions fail because people haven’t actually worked out their schedule and looked at when they have time to work on bettering themselves through these resolutions.
So when making a New Years resolution, sit down and make a plan. Work out what your goal is. What is it you want to achieve overall, then break it down into months and weeks and then work out a weekly plan for how you are going to achieve your weekly target and how much time you need to allocate it a week to achieve it.
There is a saying, “In life nothing comes easily, you have to work hard and have determination”. This is so true and applies to your new years resolution. So I do actually encourage you to make a New Years resolution, but I want you to really plan it and achieve it. Not just make it an empty promise only to let it go after a week because its too hard.
