When it comes to portion sizes, why do we always fill up our plates and feel obligated to eat everything that’s on the plate? Don’t you hate the feeling you get when you know you have over eaten and you feel bloated and feel you can’t move?
Portion size is very important to your fitness and eating regime. Like anything in your body, you must train your brain and stomach that it doesn’t need as much food as you’ve been eating. An idea to help with portion sizes is to buy smaller plates or use the side plates rather than the big dinner plates.
To assist with portion sizes, you should also have a drink of water or two just before your meal as when you’re thirsty it makes your body hungry. Having a couple of glasses of water will make you feel fuller and not as likely to eat as much.
As your portion size is smaller, you may need a piece of fruit for dessert to help you feel fuller as well.
I am a big believer that you should not starve your body, if you are hungry, you eat. It’s just what you eat and the quantity and ensuring you are doing enough exercise to offset the quantity of food you are eating.
When you are trying to loose weight, portion size is one step in your fitness regime and should be considered in your forward planning of meals and shopping routine.
