Why is it, we are afraid of change? Most of us are very cautious people, we don’t like taking the plunge to change when it comes to money, real estate, fitness, or work.
Now I’m not talking about taking irresponsible plunges, I’m talking about calculated and cautious plunges to improve your life. I’m talking about planning and doing a risk assessment so you know what could go wrong if it does but also know what the benefits will be if you do succeed in your plunge.
When it comes to your fitness regime, change is hard but sit down and ask yourself what are the benefits of change, if you have medical conditions, make sure you do your risk assessment by going to your dr and getting clearance to start exercising and what sort of fitness they say you can do.
Some people need some help with making decisions and plunges of change when it comes to work, money or real estate. A life coach or executive coach could be a great way to help you with strategies and decision making.
Some people use mood boards or whiteboards to lay out their goals in life and strategies. Some people have 5 or 10 year goals and know exactly what they want to achieve. However as you get older, your priorities change and so will your plans. So you will need to be adaptable to change.
Change is not to be afraid of. I took a plunge to change 2 years ago and my life changed for the better. I was offered a job in another state. I knew no one there but I took a plunge to change and said yes. I sat down and did a pro’s and con’s list and the pro’s won. Shortly after arriving I met my partner of 2 years. One single plunge of change changed my life and I couldn’t be happier.
Assessing your goals is an ongoing process. You will need to constantly assess your goals as changes in your life occurs or your priorities change. If you need help with assessing your goals, then reach out and ask for help. There are many different tools that you can use for setting goals.
So remember, change isn’t to be afraid of. Be adaptable to change and make sure you do your risk assessment and make calculated decisions on your life.
